ABOUT ME

I am a professional genealogist who has a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Visual Communications from Washington University in St. Louis where I also worked for three years as a photographer. My New Jersey roots go back at least 10 generations to the 1700's when many of my ancestors moved South from New England to Southern New Jersey. I grew up and live in North Jersey by New York City, but my heart and family lie in South Jersey, specifically Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties. I was an Art Director for two years at an advertising agency. I wanted to do something more meaningful with my life than sit in a cubicle and make ads to sell tea that I won't even drink.

I once read that people on their deathbed don't wish they spent more time at their office, they wish they spent it with their family. So I decided to do just that, spend it with my family and help you spend time with yours.

I take great pride in knowing that I can combine my research skills with my art background to share information about the lives of the people who are long gone. Most of the time, a genealogy book is a list of names and dates. I find that incredibly boring. That is why I take photos, combine them with facts from archives, newspapers, courthouses, and living people and present them in such a way that your ancestor will live on.

I want to know about your ancestor. What did she look like? After she was widowed, did she sell the farm and buy a duplex in town and rent out the other half? That tells me more about her than just a picture can. Did her mother die when she was young and did her stepmother send her to school with a brick in her lunchbox? Maybe you don't know, but there could be a living relative who would know, let me find him for you. I've found most of the people descended from my 4th great grandparents on all sides and I could tell you about each and every one of them. Why? Because I care about them and they deserve to be remembered. After all, when you're gone, that's the only way you will live on.
